Half-marathon completed

Filed under: Friends and family, Personal — mhg @ 1:21 am

I am starting to get the habit of running longer distances. May 1 2005 I participated in the BT Halvmarathon. Not so successfully though. I got the cramps in both leg at about 17 KM and had to complete walking which meant that I finished 3586 out of 3620 runners in all classes of runners. Not very impressive.

This weekend I ran my second half-marathon as I participated in the 2005 Broloppet which takes the runners over the Oresund bridge and into Malmø city in Sweden. This time I was able to complete to entire run without any cramps, injuries or breaks and finished 2005 out of 2553 in my class of runners. So I am improving :-)

Here’s a nice photo taken by Jason Calacanis.

Tor Noerretranders is explaining why open source is really just a matter of improving your chances of getting laid. Well his arguments are admittedly more elaborate and subtle, but the idea is basically about sex.

Tor’s book The Generous Man : How Helping Others Is the Sexiest Thing You Can Do is now available for pre-ordering at Amazon.com.

I highly recommend the book which I read in Danish when it was published here a couple of years ago. It gives a understandable, realistic and refreshingly optimistic picture of human nature and our planets future.

Wonderful atmosphere at Reboot 7.0 that I am attending - or maybe rather participating in - this Friday and tomorrow Saturday.

Last night Jeanne and I hosted a Reboot meetup party at Admiral Gjeddes Gaard. Bender von Haller Dragsted supplied the beers.
