Today 16 October 2008 is the 300th birthday of my great-great-great grandfather, Albrecht von Haller, who was a Swiss anatomist, physiologist, naturalist and poet.

Here are two snapshots from a wonderful first week of my summer holidays this year spent at Langeland with the family (Jeanne, Vilhelm, Jens, cousin Peter and visiting friends).

Check out the numero uno photo sharing of the web: 23 - the brainchild of Thomas Madsen-Mygdal and others. It has just launched a redesigned version of the web-site. Notwithstanding that Thomas is a good friend, I honestly think that 23 is the best choice for online sharing and storage. Keep of the good work guys.

Min hustru Jeanne driver Admiral Gjeddes Gaard, hvor vi også bor med familien. Som led heri holder hun en to-tre gang om året, hvad vi kalder “kulturaftener”. Her kommer folk og synger, spiller, fortæller og andet “kulturelt”.

I sidste uge havde vi besøg af min gamle ven Per Helge Sørensen, som ud over at være en talentfuld forfatter med flere romaner bag sig nu også fortæller historier live. Det blev en rigtig morsom aften. Se og hør selv!

You are in a cozy trattoria in Venice, Italy. Your 8 years old son takes out his Nintendo DS to play with while waiting for the food. You think that you have raised a modern spoiled anti-social creature. But no, within 30 seconds he is in a conversation face-to-face and over the Nintendo WiFi network with an Italian kid at another table in the restaurant also playing with his Nintendo DS.

My grand cousin Andreas Asingh’s band SMALL is playing Friday night 11 april 2008 at Rust to launch their newest single.

I can’t go there as I have to look after the kids that evening, but you can go!
